Emerging from behind the pine curtain of East Texas Deathrow Bodeen is a melodic heavy metal band that proudly wears their influences on their sleeves. For fans of Pantera because the groove is where it happens, Killswitch Engage for the melodic approach with power driving riffs and last but not least Mastodon for the riffing and spacey journey that they take you on. What you get is a powerhouse, groove and riff oriented sound that leaves you wondering what is coming next. The band is outfitted as a five piece Jordan Smith on vocals, Josh Payne on bass/ vocals, Al Wilson on drums/ vocals and Michael Boring II on guitars/ vocals. Formed in 2015 they have been grinding the local and regional scene for quite a few years and have shared the stage with some of the iconic bands that have carved out the path before them. Such bands as Kings X, Crowbar, The Toadies, Flaw, Drowning Pool, Filter, Buck Cherry, Element Eighty, Butcher Babies, Ded, Wheel, The Exfaces, 12 Stones, Cultus Black, Powerman 5000, Last Ten Seconds of Life, King810, Extortionist to name a few. Having released an ep in 2022 featuring a guest solo spot from Ty Tabor (Kings X) they are focused on the road ahead. This year Deathrow Bodeen has their eyes set upon on a new batch of singles which will in turn become the next ep being released under the label Knife Fight Media.

“Texas Metal With an Emotional Core Based in Kilgore, Texas, Deathrow Bodeen describes its music as a combination of heavy guitars, powerful vocals, melodic intensity and personal songwriting. The band cites Pantera, Mastodon, Crowbar and Killswitch Engage among the reference points for listeners, placing Deathrow Bodeen somewhere within that broad intersection of groove, weight, melody and emotionally driven modern metal.
